Several times I thought I had my new album track list locked and then have removed/added songs. That happened again this week.

People often ask where song ideas come from. The real answer is that it can come from anything. Sometimes I wake up and realize I dreamt a song that doesn’t exist and quickly grab my phone to sing the idea into my voice memos. I may just stumble into some chords sitting at the piano that sound nice.

This song came as my girlfriend was watching some bad reality tv last Thursday. Someone on the show said that they just had to take “one step at a time." I immediately ran to the piano and most of this song came out. “Just take one step at a time” quickly became, “It’s time to open your eyes,” and a week later, here's a new song.

I’m not sure if this version or even the song will make the final album cut yet, but I figured I’d share it with subscribers to see what everyone thinks.
