I had the opportunity to play a gig on drums with Bret Michaels of Poison last week in Hollywood, and my "East Coast Celebrities" bandmates John Tiedemann and Michael J. Roxx reminded me of a song I originally wrote back in 2008 named after him. I was always really proud of the harmony guitar solos in this one, but the original "Bret Michaels" song lyrics, I immediately hated. I had a tough time coming up with a new hook that seemed to work, so it's sat unifinished for the past seven years. Prompted by Michael and John, I decided to dust this one off, completely re-write the lyrics, and finally finish it. Here is the song-formerly-known-as "Bret Michaels," from here on out known simply as "Hey Girl."
