about

Today, I'm incredibly excited to announce the LONG awaited launch of Sir Video as a band. In the studio, I recorded the Sir Video music much like the Timmy Sean material, almost completely on my own, but I always knew it was a bit of a departure from anything else I had released up until that point. A little more poppy. A little more dance-y. A little more electronic. All elements that I love in music when used well, but elements that never really felt appropriate sitting amongst songs with the sound I cultivated for "Timmy Sean." So I started considering this collection of music it's own entity, and I gave it the namesake of the video rental store across the street from my first childhood home in Yardville, NJ...Sir Video.

Over the past few years as I've worked on finishing an album worth of songs in this style with multi-platinum producer - and my good friend - Kenny Gioia, I've gone through a number of epiphanies of how I wanted to bring it to the stage. These ideas included everything from a power trio using tracks, to performing with two robot characters and two "humans" (an idea that completely lost any originality when Daft Punk released their video for "Get Lucky" doing EXACTLY that). Sometimes the simplest idea is the best, though.

Live.

That's how we'll be performing it. Completely live. No tracks. No loops. Just a group of musicians playing their instruments live. And today really begins the transition from what was essentially a solo studio project, into a real live band.

I've been lucky enough to become friends with some of the best young players in LA living here these last two years, and am now even luckier to call them my bandmates who will be bringing this music to life on stage. I'll be introducing all of them to you in the coming weeks, including some familiar faces from the Timmy Sean & The Celebrities line-up (which I put on hiatus earlier this year to truly give this project 100%). In the meantime though, I can make a few other big announcements.

First, after quietly releasing an EP worth of material last summer as the "Light Years EP," I am following that up today with "This Magic," the first song from the as-yet-untitled second Sir Video EP coming in October. The two EP's will also be available as a limited edition Double-EP physical CD in October, which will be the first release from my brand new record label, Noisewater Records.

Noisewater Records will be a home for, not only Sir Video, but also future Timmy Sean albums (the first of which will be coming in 2016), and a number of other projects that I can't wait to share with all of you.

Coinciding with the release of the EP and Double-EP CD in October will be Sir Video's VERY FIRST SHOW! As some of you may know, October 2015 is the future that Marty McFly visits in Back To The Future Part II. Though the real world may not have flying cars and hoverboards quite yet, our debut show will transport you to an alternate timeline where 2015 truly is everything you imagined it would be.

I really can't put into words how excited I am to finally, finally (FINALLY!) put all these things into motion after years of false starts and getting side-tracked with other projects.

I'll have more updates on the debut show, the new EP, the CD release of the Double-EP, the label, and the band's line-up in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please give a listen to "This Magic," available TODAY! As a subscriber with my Timmy Sean "Songs Of The Week" Project, you will receive this song today as part of the subscription, as well as a free download of last year's 7-song Light Years EP!

Thanks to everyone for being so patient while I worked out the kinks on exactly what I wanted to do with this whole endeavor, especially those of you who have been following it for the last several years. We'll be working really hard for the next few months (and beyond) to hopefully have it be something really worth looking forward to.

See you soon!
